Beautiful panorama over the Bay of Audierne!
Located in southern Finistère, the pointe de la Torche cuts, by its projection into the sea, the southern end of the baie d’Audierne.
Since 1965, this rocky peninsula is classified Natural Site. And for good reason! Beaten by the elements, it offers an impressive spectacle. On stormy days, the waves, crashing on the rock, pass over the isthmus. On calmer days, you can take a beautiful walk along the coastal path that goes around the point, you will then have a superb view of the Bay of Audierne.
You will meet there tumulus and dolmen, vestiges of the human occupation of this site at the Mesolithic and Neolithic. La Torche is also a very popular site for snow sports enthusiasts. It is also considered as one of the best surf spots in Europe. Several stages of the world championship and the European cup of surfing, among others, took place there. All year long, this spot hosts high level surfing competitions.
Take advantage of your visit to Brittany to learn about this emblematic sport of the region, with one of the schools present at La Torche. The bay of Audierne is also a ideal setting for kite-surfing, body-boarding or sand yachting.

A few minutes away from the Camping La Grande Plage, in Lesconil, in Finistère, discover a must-see spot for surfers : la Torche, in Plomeur. Between dunes and tulip fields, discover the beauty of this natural and protected site in Brittany.
This tourist place is perfect to test the sports of gliding: surf, bodyboard, kitesurf, windsurf, Stand Up Paddle.
Surfing competitions and other board sports are organized there all year long. Warning all the same : baïnes and important side currents. There is a swimming watch during the summer.
Like most natural sites in Brittany, the large white sand beach at Pointe de la Torche is a protected and preserved area, classified as natural since 1965. It is part of the emblematic sites of Finistère, but especially of the Pays Bigouden, because of its natural and wild character, but also because of the prehistoric vestiges which are there.

If you’re a surfer, you’ve probably heard of this well-known spot called the Torch.
From the Month of April the natural site welcomes many surfers and fans of sliding!
The spot hosts a stage of the Windsurfing World Cup every 2 years and the Stand Up Paddle stage every year.
Discover the surroundings of the Pointe de la Torche
From March, Les champs de la Torche, in Plomeur, is adorned with beautiful colors. The Breton climate and the sandy soil have made it possible, since the beginning of the 1980s, to develop the cultivation of narcissus, hyacinths, tulips and irises.
The Torch, in spring, becomes red, yellow, orange, pink and more, it is the Fête des Fleurs à Plomeur ! 40 hectares of fields of hyacinths and tulips dress this magnificent natural site.
Whether by car, by bike, on foot or by little train, you can come and admire the Torch and its colors in springtime !
